Matt Moore made his major league debut for the Rays tonight, making me again all too conscious of the fact that I am indeed not a big league prospect with a bright future ahead of me. Moore hit 102 MPH with his fastball (according to the gun), though he was consistently more in the 96 - 97 range and looked really comfortable getting there. He easily made it through an inning and a third before giving up a single to Vladimir Guerrero, a two-run home run to Matt Wieters, and then a double to Chris Davis. While it wasn’t the most dominate debut, Moore still had good stuff and looked at-ease in his first major league appearance. As they say, “Welcome to Jurassic Park the big leagues.”
