While it’s nice to see Nick Blackburn return to form since regaining a rotation spot, I think it’s important to remember this he was facing the Seattle Mariners earlier today. An 8.2 inning outing with only 2 hits is like go 6 innings while allowing 3 runs to a real Major League lineup. But even that would represent a major improvement for a guy with a 6.49 ERA coming into today’s action. Kudos all around.
Denard Span drove in the only run in this one as the teams combined for only 6 at bats with runners in scoring position. If you had somewhere to be, this was the game to see as the Twins beat the Mariners 1-0 in 2:13.
