Kuroda’s Gem : No Hits Through Eight
Even in a season where no-hitters are as common as Mets meltdowns, Hiroki Kuroda’s performance last night was a thing to admire. Kuroda allowed just four baserunners over 7 2/3. This isn’t the first time he flirted with greatness, he was tossing a perfect game through 7 back in 2008 until it was broken up by a lead off double by Mark Texiera in the 8th inning.

Even more impressive, Kuroda ended his 0-45 stretch at the plate with a single. But since he’s a pitcher, I can’t legally call it a slump because it’s just a way of life.
