Farewell Tito
As most of you might have heard by now, Red Sox skipper Terry Francona has managed his last game for Boston. Francona leaves behind a 755-552 record, five playoff appearances, and two World Series rings from his eight seasons at the steps of the dugout. There are conflicting reports out there as to whether the decision came as a result of a nudge by owner John Henry or if Tito actually came to the conclusion well before the September collapse. Either way, it’s a huge loss for a team to which Francona brought much needed consistency and levelheadedness.
Being the resident Red Sox fan at Old Time Family Baseball, I will post my reaction to the events of the last week as soon as can get myself out of the cold, dark corner to which my despair has banished me.
