Halloween Countdown:
I guess if you’re looking for a home field advantage, there are worse ways to do it than by putting the visiting team in a haunted hotel. The Pfister Hotel located in Milwaukee has long been known for the spooks and spirits that call it home, frightening many a superstitious ballplayer:
“A player for the Dodgers has been known to sleep with a baseball bat for protection after hearing odd noises. And two pairs of Florida Marlins players reportedly demand to share a room when they’re in Milwaukee because they’re afraid of ghosts…”
Even better is Tony LaRussa’s take on the place:
“I think it’s a first-class hotel. You get first-class care. And if there’s a ghost or two, they’re good friends.”
Considering that many question whether Tony LaRussa is card-carrying member of the living, his feelings are not that shocking at all.
