Who Loves a Good Jose Canseco Milkshake?
Thanks to, you know, real baseball being played last night, I didn’t have a chance to watch the first segment of Ken Burns’ 10th Inning. In fact, until the playoffs are over I doubt I’ll get a chance.
However, Tom Boswell was on the show last night and said that he once saw a player who has since been inducted into the Hall of Fame drinking a “Jose Canseco milkshake.” TheHall of Fame element quickly cuts down on who the perp might be, but thanks to Wezen-Ball we may be able to make an educated guess.
His first post this morning which is required reading posits that Rickey Henderson is the mostly likely milkshake aficionado, but is far from a slam dunk. However, more required reading updates the fact that “Jose Canseco milkshake” was a term being thrown around during the late 80s and it’s no slam dunk that it was Henderson. Or even Ripken, or Sandberg and that it may very well be a Robin Yount or Carlton Fisk.
In the end, we’re all just guessing until Tom Boswell says more or until time machines are invented and we can all go back and witness it for ourselves.
