As the hardened crime investigator looked down at the bloodied corpse of the Diamondbacks he came to a realization. “But wait!” he exclaimed. “Have you ever seen the Rookie of the Year and Buster Posey apart from each other?” The crowd gasped. Could it be—could the brutal murder of a baseball team have come from the charming Buster Posey AND the roguish Rookie of the Year? They could not even believe the thought. But there it was—plausibility. A prime suspect. The inspector knew he had his work cut out for him.
In case you can’t decipher my future bestselling fiction work, Buster Posey hit a two run home run to pad the Giants 2-1 lead in the sixth inning as the Giants went on to win 4-1 and lower their magic number to two. The Padres will be playing the Cubs this evening, but it hardly matters now. Regardless of the outcome, if the Padres want to win the West, they’ll need to sweep this weekend.
