Pedro Guerrero’s Airtight Logic

While playing around on Baseball-Reference, I came across this lovely little exchange between Tommy Lasorda and Pedro Guerrero when the Dodgers were trying to turn Guerrero into a third baseman and Steve Sax was struggling throwing to first base:

“Tommy: Pedro, suppose the bases are loaded. What are you thinking about the next hitter?

Pedro: I’m thinking ‘Don’t hit it to me’.

Tommy: Come on, what else are you thinking?

Pedro: I’m thinking ‘Don’t hit it to Saxxy either’.”

Now that’s Tommy Lasorda Baseball.
