Steve Nebraska’s Major League debut: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB 27 K, 81 pitches.
I watched this one while I was feeling under the weather this weekend and, besides plenty of other head scratchers, I couldn’t figure out why Ozzie Smith was the fearsome hitter to end the game. Ozzie never topped more than 6 home runs in a season and was coming off a robust .675 OPS the year the movie was made. Are you telling me that while Albert Brooks was able to get Keith Hernandez, Bret Saberhagen, Bob Tewksbury and George Steinbrenner in the film, not even John Kruk would answer the phone?
