Jayson Werth Will Have His Revenge on Philadelphia

The Phillies fans aren’t really known for their friendly, accommodating nature. Sure, they’ve get excellent cheese steak and that movie Invincible, but despite the fact that Jayson Werth did the Phillies a favor by skipping town (.238/.336/.396 as a National), the fans have managed to hold onto their grudge. When Werth broke his wrist last night, the Phillies fans let him know how they felt with a chorus of boos. 

Well, Jayson Werth doesn’t put up with behavior like that. In an email to the Washington Post, Werth wrote: 

“After walking off the field feeling nauseous knowing my wrist was broke and hearing Philly fans yelling ‘You deserve it,’ and, ‘That’s what you get,’ I am motivated to get back quickly and see to it personally those people never walk down Broad Street in celebration again,”

After years of Dodgers-Giants and Yankees-Red Sox rivalries, it’s nice to see that things are getting heated between the Phillies and the Nationals what with the Nationals trying to block Philadelphians from their park and Cole Hamels taking aim at Bryce Harper.  Having a little bad blood is good for ratings, bloggers, and people that need can only unite over a shared hatred rather than a bond of love.
