Baseball Card of the Week:
Just look at Yuniesky Betancourt; he’s so young, so full of promise, so much lighter than he currently is. This card came out after Betancourt hit .289/.310/.403 while playing average defense. He still couldn’t draw a walk, but a 24 year old shortstop with a .713 OPS was nothing to sneeze at. Four years later, Betancourt has regressed in every baseball category and all that promise seems wasted.
On an unrelated note, this might be my least favorite Topps design of all time.
