Baseball Cards of The Week: All The Best Dads

With Father’s Day upon us, I thought it best to take a look at some of the greatest Dads to ever grace the ball field:

Tom Buskey says:

“As long as you try your hardest and tell the truth, you’ll always come out on top.”

Tom Henke says:

”You just haven’t heard music until you’ve heard Don Henley’s solo work.”

Toby Harrah says:

“A good man should be like a steak: tough on the outside, tender on the inside. And don’t ever be afraid to bleed.”

Mike Redmond says:

“Pull my finger. Come on, do it. Don’t look at me like that, you used to love it.”

Mike Christopher says:

“Get in the car, we were supposed to leave for Turtle Beach forty-five minutes ago.”

Juan Berenguer says:

“Have you seen Mike and MollyThat show is hilarious.”

Rich Gedman says:

“Let me throw on my Teva’s and we’ll head down to the hardware store to get that spackle we need.”

Mike Ivie says:

“You better get those grades up if you want any chance of going to the party this weekend.”

Keith Atherton says:

“Hey buddy, I know this time in your life is tough. Believe me, I was a teenager, too. I just want you to know you can ask me anything.”

Steve Lake says:

“Hey, hey, check it out. Check it out, I’m holding these melons like they were bazoongas.”

Mike LaValliere says:

“Set the table, we’re having brats tonight.”

Mitch Webster says:

“A little hard work and elbow grease never hurt anybody.”

Pete Incaviglia says:

“Don’t worry about impressing girls. Just be yourself. Look at me and your Mom—think she could resist the real me?”

Andre Thornton says:

“Math has a lot of practical applications in your adult life. I don’t have to list the reasons, you just have to do what I tell you. “

Pete O’Brien says:

“God dammit, I thought I told you to clean up this room?”

Ron Robinson says:

“Nothing like a cold root brewski and some ‘za.”

And to my Dad, on the off chance that he’s reading this: thanks for coaching Little League all those years even though you hate baseball and I was never any good at it.

Happy Father’s Day, everybody.
