Dustin Pedroia Regenerates

Dustin Pedroia is good at many, many things on the baseball field. Like fielding, and hitting, and getting his uniform dirty, you know, standard baseball stuff. He’s also very good at something else:

“I’m a lizard. I heal while I play. I’m a freak healer. I heal great.”

Is that a reference to The Amazing Spider-man and Dr. Curt Connors’ ability to re-grow an arm after turning into The Lizard? Or just another piece of genius to spill out of Pedroia’s id?
