Where In The World Is Kyle Davies When You Need Him

Last year, Kyle Davies occupied the back end of the Royals rotation, going 1-9 with a 6.75 ERA in 61.1 innings. I think they would gladly accept him back at this point.

After the freshly acquired Jonathan Sanchez won his first start with the Royals, he’s gone 0-6 with an 8.19 ERA in his last 11 starts, capping it off with last night’s 7 R, one-and-a-third inning performance against the Seattle Mariners of all teams.

Frighteningly, not only have Sanchez’s walk totals spiked to Oliver Perez levels, but his strikeouts have dropped by a third from his previous career averages. I don’t like to believe in curses because I’m an enlightened man in the modern age, but Dayton Moore must have stolen something of value from a one-eyed woman with a cruel grin at a swap meet at least once in his life.
