Aaron Cook Loves Contact*
Aaron Cook has made 8 starts and pitched 44.2 innings. He has a 5.24 ERA and has allowed six home runs. All of those numbers are higher than his strikeouts total. Which is four.
Cook has actually had more starts, five, without a strikeout, than his strikeout total on the season. Which, I’ll repeat again for those not paying attention, is four. It’s enough to give him a whopping 0.8 K/9 ratio.
The last pitcher to throw at least 45 innings with a strikeout rate that low was Arnold Carter in 1945. So at least he’s in good company.
*Not the movie. Though he probably loves that, too. Just not as much as Gattaca.
