MAXIMUM CONCLUSIONS
The Divisional Series has been around since 1995 and yet, before 2012, never has all four series been pushed to their full five games. Last year was the closest, with three series going distance and the Rangers defeating the Rays in four games. In fact, every year has had at least one sweep except this year, 2011, and 2003.
While this could be chalked up to random chance, perhaps some credit has to go to the statistical revolution leveling the playing field and making the difference between the best and worst teams in the postseason that much smaller.
