CC Sabathia Takes No Prisoners In Game Five

You have to hand it to Baltimore. The team made a lot of noise in the beginning of the season, and then proceeded to play its way into the postseason for the rest of the time. Even when their bats went cold against the Yankees, they found a way to eke out a couple of close wins.

But alas, the dream is over for the Birds, devoured by CC Sabathia. And I don’t mean that as a fat joke, but as one related to the occult. For what is CC other than that? A dream eater?

That’s a great pitching line any day of the season, and in an October that saw the Yankees pushed to the brink of elimination by the upstart Orioles and that saw Alex Rodriguez ride the pine during that crucial elimination game, it might become legendary.

So New York moves on, and Baltimore heads home. But I don’t think I’ll be as naive this year and count them out again.
