Tigers: 3 Yankees: 0; Detroit Goes Up 2 - 0

Prince Fielder may or may not have given an unnecessary Heimlich to Alexi Avila in today’s win against the New York. Prince Fielder may or may note have thrown Avila into the stands to show how amped up he was. Or he might have simply crushed the man’s ribs wit a good old fashioned hug. I’ll leave it up to you.

Detroit went to five games against Oakland, but they’re now up 2 - 0 against the Yankees in the ALCS. Anibal Sanchez didn’t give up a run in seven innings of work that saw him strike out seven while giving up just three hits and three walks. As seems to be the case with some of these pitching match-ups lately, Huroki Kuroda threw 7.2 innings for New York. He struck out 11 but gave up the three runs in the seventh and eight. The Tigers and Yankees will now head to Detroit, where Justin Verlander will look to put the team up 3 - 0. Should be a tough game for New York.
