Cardinals Beat Giants, Selig Lets Fans Out Of Busch Stadium
After an intense rain delay of three and a half hours, the Cardinals and Giants were able to finish off Game Three of the NLCS, and St. Louis came way with a 3 - 1 victory. Unfortunately, Bud Selig did not have to execute any of his aforementioned contingency plans, though I think that in the end, that’s probably a good thing.
San Francisco scored their only run in the top of third via a Pablo Sandoval ground out to shortstop. St. Louis got a Matt Carpenter two-run home run to go along with Shane Robinson ground out that scored a run in the bottom of the seventh. Kyle Lohse managed to work around five walks in 5.2 innings, while Matt Cain lasted 6.2 innings before the rain set in.
It was a more or less a swim in the park from there. St. Louis now leads the series 2 - 1.
