And Another Season’s In The Books

Though the wound still smarts and the evening schedule is too dreadful to bare, it’s time to come to terms with the fact that the baseball season is over. Sure, the Commissioner’s Office could have decided to make it a best of 9, best of 11, best of 13 series, just to keep baseball on the air, but like all good things, they must come to an end.

I want to thank all of you for coming to this little internet place and sharing the season with me. It was another amazing year and this cyberspace boomtube we live in has made it all the better. I want to also thank my amazing web partner, Will Hall, for essentially covering all of the postseason action as I was too busy galavanting about town to write recaps. Reward him with Twitter follows or, if you see him in person, armfuls of candy.

We’ll be here all offseason, providing the regular smattering of news, weird goings on, and loose connections to Batman that we always do, so don’t go anywhere. Posting may be a little slow over the next few weeks as things at OTFB headquarters are a tad hectic, but we’re not going anywhere, so strap yourself into a Clockwork Orange-style viewing apparatus and sit tight.

If 2012, with its no-hitters, and knuckleballers, and historic rookie seasons, and triple crowns was this good, I can only imagine how much fun 2013 will be. If you’re on the East Coast, stay safe, and if you’re on the West Coast, well, I guess that’s just generally a good piece of advice.
