You used to have to wait for a vendor to show up, or pay top dollar for the privilege of ordering a cold beer from your seat at the ballgame. With the new iBeerGuy app, Scooter the Beer Guy is bringing that convenience to thirsty baseball fans wherever they sit. This spring Scooter will be selling beers at Salt River Fields, the new Rockies/Diamondbacks complex in Scottsdale. He’ll be back at Seattle’s Safeco Field this summer, where he’s worked for many years. If you’re visiting either ballpark, be sure to download the app and order a Mr. Coldie from Scooter. Tell him Mighty Flynn sent you.
(This is not a paid endorsement. I’ve known Scooter since 1995, when he worked at Coors Field and I bartended half a block away, at Splinters from the Pine. Scooter knows baseball, and he’s probably the hardest working, funniest beer vendor I’ve come across in all my years of visiting ballparks.)

Up there with rain delays, one of my least favorite things is waiting for the beer vendor to come around to my section, sometimes forcing me to (gasp!) get out of my chair. Having an app like this is almost enough to make me move to Seattle just so I could use it.
