Brewers Acquire Nyjer Morgan - To get Morgan, they had to deal Cutter Dykstra. Ignoring the actual baseball analysis here, the Brewers got a stirrup sock wearing, nickname inventing, wig possessing machine, but had to give up a Dykstra with the first name of Cutter. Not even Matt Christopher would give one of his characters that name. So, the deal is a wash.
Athletics Name Brandon McCarthy Their Fifth Starter - I’ve always liked McCarthy, but what are the chances he stays healthy enough to even make five starts?
Mike Hampton Retires - It’s a testament to Hampton that he didn’t retire anytime in the last five seasons. Hampton was a pretty special player who could hit and pitch when he was healthy. The problem was that for the last decade, he was never healthy.
