Things You May Have Missed While You Were Living Your Life

While you were out, meeting up with internet friends and watching the World Baseball Classic, other baseball-y things happened that weren’t overseas and in the middle of the night. Here are some of those things:

Well, first up is World Baseball Classic action. If you haven’t been watching, shame on you. It’s filled with interesting players, cool stories, and hilarious uniform snafus. Like this

Martin Perez fractures his arm. He’s been a frustrating prospect, looking equal parts great and lost. Well, now he’s gone until May.

Jay Bruce pranks the MLB Fan Cave 30. I was out in Salt River Field that day, missing out on this, making it a surprise to me as much as it is for you.

Bryan Villareal’s family escaped from kidnapping attempt. There is nothing funny about this, but thankfully everyone is okay.

Mike Trout catch to be commemorated in bobblehead form. My guess? The Angels will earn more on this promotion than they are paying Trout in 2013.

Mets PR man, Jay Horwitz portrays David Wright. This is a man who knows good PR.

Hank Aaron and Louis CK were once on the Tonight Show. Together. Which is amazing. (h/t Hardball Talk

The Pablo Sandoval Fat Meter. I wish this is what my doctor used at my annual physical. It would be a much better motivator for losing weight.

Following Yahoo’s Lead, the Rockies will no longer be allowed to work from home. This is phenomenal.

The four best games pitched by knuckleballers. This must have been hard to assemble because every start by a knuckleballer is the best.

And over in our own neck of the woods, there are a few pieces posted that, if you missed them, well, shame on you. Don’t make that mistake again. Pieces like, Milk Bone’s bizarre 1993 baseball players and their dogs card set, the Deep Space Nine baseball game, and the Sparky Anderson mustache controversy.
