The Old Time Family Baseball Utility League Has Returned

Have no fear, fantasy baseball fanatics, the greatest of fantasy baseball leagues has returned: The Craig Counsell Memorial Utility Man and Relief Pitcher Fantasy League is back.

It’s the best and purest expression of baseball love, allowing the Daniel Descalsos, Robert Andinos, and Matt Belisles of the world to have fantasy value. And don’t you want that?

Last year, the league’s winner got to start Michael Cuddyer, Rajai Davis, and Vinnie Pestano in the championship round. In other words, to win this league you must be cunning, smart, stirrup-socked, and full of vim and vigor. It’s a real blast.

With everyone save for a few inactive owners from last year invited back, there are limited open spots so please send me an email if you’re interested and I’ll get you hooked up with an invite. First come, first served.

Some of the particulars: rosters update once a week and the categories are finely tuned for the roster particulars that we’re sporting: .AVG, RBI, SH, SB, XBH and IP, W, K, HLD, ERA, and WHIP. Perhaps most importantly though, you need to be able to make the live draft because it’s your responsibility to ensure that every one of your offensive players have multi-position eligibility (except for catchers. Catchers are gritty enough as is). If they don’t, they’ll be dropped from your roster and it will be up to you to find someone else on the waiver wire. Right now the draft is scheduled for March 24th at 2 PM EST/11 AM PST.

So if your baseball love runs more to those that show up at the end as part of a double switch, or your favorite pitcher is a junkballing lefty long-reliever, there is only one league for you.
