After three entire homerless games, (where he still went 3-9 with 5 BB and 2 RBI), Jose Bautista finally ended his homerless streak in the Blue Jays 5-3 victory over the Yankees.
In the top of the third and with the Blue Jays trailing the Yankees 1-0, Jose Bautista took a belt-high 82 mph slider from Freddy Garcia and sent an absolute laser down the left field line for his ninth home run of the season.
It was a bizarre hit; most liners like that barely clear the fence and a few feet lower wouldn’t make it out at all. Instead, this one jumped into the second deck, taking roughly three seconds to do it. I don’t even think Bautista had time to get out of the box before it was gone.
