EPIC. BASEBALL.
Just look at that line score. The game lasted so long that the Mets logo had to posted above the two teams’ names. Crazy baseball.
Some fun facts:
- It lasted nearly seven hours.
- Scoreless for the first 19 innings, only four innings short of the record held by the (surprise!) Mets. That game was played on April 15th, 1968 and the Mets lost 1-0 to the Houston Astros.
- A total of 19 pitchers used. Nine by the Mets and ten by the Cardinals.
- Although only eight of the Cardinals hurlers were actually pitchers. Shortstop Felipe Lopez threw a scoreless frame, and outfielder Joe Mather pitched two innings and gave up the two runs.
- A total of 652 pitches were thrown. (Assuming my math is correct.)
- The Cardinals could have won it. Ryan Ludwick ground out with two men on to end it, leaving Albert Pujols on deck. Albert also had a game that he will probably never see again. 2-5 with 4 BBs.

Yes, I am a baseball fan. I started following this game in the 16th inning. Wish I could have been there!
