A Day of Firsts

Luis Atilano of the Washington Nationals picked up his first career Major League win, helping the Nationals move back to a game over .500.

Fans of the Mets might have seen this as a sign of things to come as Ike Davis homered off of Kenshin Kawakami for his first career major league home run.

Aaron Hill, a popular pick to take a big step backwards this season, returned from the DL and hit his first home run of 2010. Toronto defeated the red hot Rays 6-5.

And Big Papi, with all of Red Sox Nation wondering if he’d ever do it again, hit his first home run of the season off Jeremy Guthrie. While he will probably hit more this season, Ortiz’s home run is much closer to his final blast than the beginning of his reemergence.
