My first game I attended this season and it was with the Pirates ending a three game winning streak. It also didn’t help that the wind was whipping, making the usually tranquil LA weather feel like November back in Boston.
The Pirates played a fairly sloppy, boring game. Another awful start from Charlie Morton, though both home runs went out to right field which was the way the wind was blowing. I had a strange angle, so I couldn’t really say if they were wind aided or not.
But what I really want to talk about is the fans. They were more excited for the beach ball that was batted around then at any time during the game. The closest they came was when there were Lakers highlights on the jumbotron. Sometimes I just wish people came to baseball games to, you know, watch baseball. A novel idea.
Anyways, I don’t have much to say. It was cold and we lost. I’ll be back out there tomorrow though.
