Cardinals 9 - Angels 5

Joel Pineiro had a terrible return to St. Louis. Pineiro lasted 3 runnings and was charged with nine runs, including one from his fellow pitcher Brad Penny. However, Albert Pujols did not take part in the driving in of runs, as he went 0-3 with a walk and a run scored.

In fact, Albert Pujols has homered once in May. Only once. And that came on May 14th. While his OPS has only dropped .097 points, the Cardinals have gone 9-10 in May. With the human Albert Pujols in the lineup, the Cardinals are a good if somewhat flawed team. That should scare the Reds more than anything.

Because once Albert gets back on track, the Central is over.
