In 4 hours and 22 minutes of hideous baseball, and despite the 24 combined runs, only one home run was hit. There were 13 walks and only three pitchers made clean outings: Damaso Marte for .1, Rafael Perez for 1 and Chris Perez for 2. Consider those the heroes for a war that should never have been fought.
A scary moment happened early in the game with David Huff taking a line drive off his head from Alex Rodriguez. Early reports are good with a clean CAT scan and no memory loss for David Huff. That’s the best news that anyone could hope for coming out of this game. It will be interesting to see when Huff is cleared to play again. Here’s to hoping for a quick and painless recovery.
