Chris Tillman made his first big league start of 2010 and gave the Orioles a good harbinger for the future. In 5.2 innings, Tillman gave up six hits, walked two, struck out three and gave up two runs. Unfortunately both runs came off of homers, but considering the way the Blue Jays are bashing the ball this season, that’s not too bad a total.
Unfortunately for the O’s, Toronto’s Brett Cecil is intent on giving the Blue Jays one of the best 1-3 starters in the majors. Cecil lowered his ERA to 3.81 with 7 K’s in 8 innings.
The Jays have now hit 50 home runs in May, a team record.
