Unsurprisingly, Brian Burres threw a stinker of a ball game as he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings. However, he also drove in 2 runs with an RBI triple in the fourth. When the pitcher doubles the run output of the rest of the team put together, that excuses a weak pitching line. Come on, Buccos. Don’t make the pitcher and Andrew McCutchen the only ones scoring runs.
The Braves won their ninth game out of their last eleven on the back of another quality outing from Kris Medlen and Jason Heyward’s 10th home run. They’re now 1.5 games behind the Phillies, but no one cares right now because, oh yeah, Roy Halladay threw a PERFECT GAME. (Just thought I would remind you how awesome that is in case you forgot.)
