39/30
That’s Todd Helton’s H/BB ratio this season after today’s 11-3 Rockies victory over the Dodgers. Every single starter, pitcher Aaron Cook included, picked up a hit against the Dodgers except for Helton. That’s not to say Helton didn’t help the club as he walked two more times in his 5 plate appearances. At this point in his career, with Helton’s slugging percentage lower than any Rockie other than Dexter Fowler, it makes no sense to keep plugging Helton into the third spot in the lineup. Despite his lack of speed, Helton’s penchant for getting on base would make him an excellent leadoff or number two hitter.
I’m just saying to think about it, Jim.
