That’s Livan Hernandez and Jon Garland’s ERA’s after today’s Nationals-Padres game which the Nationals won 3-2 in eleven innings. Each gave up 2 runs, Hernandez in six and a third, and Garland through seven. Neither should have been so fortunate, Hernandez gave up eight hits and Garland gave up two solo home runs to Ryan Zimmerman, but that’s how the cookie crumbles or something.
It shouldn’t happen, but just think about how great it would be if Hernandez and Garland finish the year as serious Cy Young candidates. Some pundits will lose their minds and I would love watching that.
