The Texas Rangers and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
The Rangers lost their sixth out of their last seven games, Nelson Cruz was put back on the DL and Derek Holland was taken out in the second inning with left shoulder soreness. The losing streak has put Texas a half game behind Oakland, arguably their best hitter is out again, and Derek Holland who has the stuff of a staff ace could be seriously injured. No word about the injury yet, but any time a pitcher of his caliber gives up 3 runs and 3 walks in an inning of work and leaves with fatigue, there is reason to be concerned.
If Cruz and Holland miss an extended amount of time, the Rangers season will be a lot harder.
