Eddie Grant
The only Major League Baseball player to be killed in action during WW I
(by The Library of Congress)

Two other notes about Eddie Grant:
He first played for the Cleveland Naps, the team with the coolest name in the history of baseball. (Unfortunately, they’re not named for snoozing, but for Nap Lajoie)
His nickname was “Harvard Eddie.” There has only been a total of 21 players in the history of Major League Baseball to attend Harvard.
