Lousy hats or not, this was a supremely satisfying victory over the Cubs. Ross Ohlendorf was solid and deserved to have a shutout if not for some miscommunication in the outfield in the second inning.
Garrett Jones also homered and hit a double while wearing his “GI Jones” tee-shirt in honor of our servicemen and Andy Laroche made a great play on a slow roller in the bottom of the eighth that kept the game knotted at one. This was a great kick-off for my Memorial Day baseball marathon.
