Did all pitchers just decide to give up today? The Nationals scored 9 runs in the seventh inning while joining the Yankees and Marlins in scoring double digits as they trounced the Astros 14-4 behind a 9 run seventh inning.
Roy Oswalt wasn’t good, giving up 4 runs in 2.1 before getting tossed, but he looked marvelous compared to those that relieved him; specifically Jeff Fulchino and Chris Sampson who combined for 2 innings and 9 earned runs.
It’s hard to spotlight a single Nationals hitter as they all did so well, but Ryan Zimmerman went 2-2 with 2 walks, a home run, and four RBI. That’ll get it done.
