Hip Hip Hooray! Brandon Wood raised his average to .176 and hit his first career grand slam against the Rockies in the Angels 10-3 win.
Thanks to years and years of drafting Brandon Wood as my fantasy sleeper, I’ve come to have an almost parental attachment to Wood, despite being, you know, younger than him. Despite having finally dropped him from an AL Only league earlier this week, I’m relieved to see him come up big today. The game quotes seem to support the notion that his swing is looking better, but honestly, I’ve heard that too many times. I’d love for this grand slam be the catalyst to the 30 home run promised land, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen.
The point of this post is that bad things happen to good people, I guess. Which is a bit of a downer for a baseball blog. Sorry about that.
