The Pirates really need to get better at communicating. For the second time in less than a week a shallow pop fly down the right field line caused a collision between the right fielder and second baseman. The first time it was Neil Walker, now out after he suffered a concussion on the play, and last night it was Bobby Crosby who left with concussion-like symptoms. The Buccos had better hope that Crosby doesn’t need to miss significant time because that would mean Delwyn Young would play second base and while the dude tries hard, his glove seems to have an aversion to fielding ground balls.
In the end though, the Pirates won on a Jose Tabata double in the ninth to end a 17 game road losing streak and they beat the Cubs 2-1.
