I’m going to start a new feature in this space called Last Baseball Cards, featuring, you guessed it, the last baseball cards in a player’s career. Except in rare instances, the last card features an out of shape former slugger, or a young hurler whose facial hair has now turned gray, wearing a uniform that no one has fuzzy memories of.
This may be a strange card to start with, considering that Jamie Moyer has not officially retired, but chances are this is the end of the road for the 48-year-old lefty.
Perhaps this will act as a jinx though, guaranteeing Moyer’s safe return to the Majors in 2012.
