In a stunning act of similar to when a chicken can run despite its head being chopped off, Carlos Lee gave off the faintest sense of life on his way to hitting two home runs and driving in four runs in the Astros 8-1 victory against the Cubs. Lee is hitting .239 on the season with 14 home runs. Of course, to actually earn his paycheck, he would need somewhere around a dozen of these kinds of games the rest of the way out. Considering that this was his first two home run game in three years, I’m going to assume that’s a little far fetched.
Bud Norris went six innings and allowed only one unearned run. Norris is certainly not a staff ace as he’s far too inconsistent for that, but when Norris is one he is a strikeout machine.
