Never, ever, ever a good sign. Marte did throw a scoreless inning and was able to strike out a Yankee, so maybe the third base bust Marte has a career as the ultimate swingman. According to BrooksBaseball.net’s PitchFX, Marte did throw a four-seam and two-seam fastball along with a changeup. Sure, they were all between 84-87 mph, but come on. The guy knows how to pitch. Marte’s entrance was necessary thanks to a 7 run 7th by the Yankees that put the game well out of reach in their 11-4 beat down of the Indians.
