Paul Konerko: One hit in each of his last four games. All were home runs. You gotta love that kind of efficiency. Konerko now has 25 on the season and Ramon Castro also added two of his own in the White Sox 9-5 victory against the Mariners. It’s hard to root against Konerko who has continued to hit all season, but he’s posting his highest career OPS at the age of 34. Sometimes these things happen, but I wouldn’t be totally shocked if he slowed down some over the stretch. After all, 2007 was the last season Konerko hit 30 home runs or drove in 90 runs.
Ichiro Suzuki went 3-5 with 3 doubles and 3 runs scored in the losing effort.
