Dayton Moore, this is why Alex Gordon should not be sent packing to AAA. On a rainsoaked evening in Kansas City, Alfredo Simon gave up the three run home run to Gordon wasting Ty Wigginton’s 3-4 day in which he drove in two runs. Don’t worry, Simon. After all the speculation, it looks like Wigginton will remain in Baltimore for the rest of the summer. You’ll get plenty more chances to make it up to him. Alex Gordon’s blast turned him from goat to hero, though as before the homer he was 0-4 with 6 men left on base. With one powerful swing of the bat, all is forgiven though. Though Gordon hasn’t exactly been tearing the cover off the ball since his return to Kansas City, he does have a five game hitting streak. To be fair, he’s only 5-22 in that time frame. Perhaps I’ve been too harsh on Dayton Moore. Sorry, Dayton.
