"When I got the call. I thought it was joke from (Charlotte teammate) Brent Morel or somebody else on the team. When he said, no this is Buddy Bell, I was like, this is real, I definitely got excited and called my parents right away."

Lucas Harrell after his first Major League victory against the Athletics. Harrell got the call-up after Daniel Hudson was shipped off to Arizona for Edwin Jackson, leaving the White Sox without a starter.

While it’s a beautiful moment in the life of every Major League pitcher, don’t expect too many more for Harrell. While he’s excellent organizational depth, he has a career minor league K/BB of 1.32 which just won’t cut it. Especially while striking out less than six batters per nine innings.
